Interesting flight - didn't know Iran Air flew that route on A300's.

Ground shadows, as well as Emirates Airlines, appear to have left the room in Dubai, however... ?

My first thought was 'Prince' and his 'Purple Rain' , I havn't followed Air Iran's A300s since the USS Vincennes one of the first AEGIS class destroyers around 1988, the airliner provoked missile to be locked on to them by not answering or confirming airline status and exactly what i would have done was push that button, back then that country was blowing every thing up thru the Straits of Hormuz so threat was real , what you would call a live fire test.

First, I didn´t want talk about this ... im from ex. GDR and we have a different view about this tragic incident.

Due the that country stocking up and firing Silkworm missiles, knocking out tankers with suicide boats, every navy in the region plus the Internationals protect commercial shipping ... they always are at war with everyone all the time.... who's not to say that the A300 was not going to be used as a weapon .. recent history proves these countries and the people in them are cause enough concern for me to say push that BUTTON and fire that missile ... I'd do it without hesitation.

Arrogance got them killed, so finger is pointed directly at Iran and its airline and the aircrew. I remember they got a huge payout for people on board to families ... now i wonder how much off that money was used to carry on feeding the war going on with Iraq ? rather than excuse it was given to passenger family - money wise that country would have done anything for extra war booty after 10 years off war with just as nutty neighbour .

Sorry, but here on this point it is better for us to stopp and maybe to close and destroy the thread.

EDIT: I have self censored the thread and hope, that this tells everyone, that we have themes, we can´t talk about with the same point of view. It was not clever, to bring this story in.

Sorry for the inconvenience Ian.
