This has to be the DC-3 of the Jet age .... these are only five of dozens . The 707 will live forever.
The names alone empower the type .... Sentry, Mercury ,Rivet joint , Cobra ball , .... not all of which Ive screened .... but what a family .

with the old engines ...










These models are all from HJG , made for FS9 , and all less than 3mb each ... crazy stuff these days . I dont bother with the panels or sounds , but if you did , its still only a few Mb.... and their free
If you want a bit of history ..... get over to HJG .

great screenies Marty,..Im biased towards them using the 707,..the Nimrod was a great aircraft...and looked much much cooler ,..I do love that 2nd shot tho...killer

I must say that, although the original JT3 turbojets probably look and fit the '50s aircraft (like the 3rd shot), I do like the later CFM56 refit (like the 2nd).
They just look so... phat!
And give the aircraft a totally "new" look, 60 years on.

A.B .... yeah, the nimmy was an awesome bird , and its variants , and of course based on a classic airframe .

Charl , i agree, the long engines were period pieces ...but the big roundys just fit in ....as they do on some of the remaining DC-8's.

Not sure if you noticed , but a lot of these HJG models have very subtle an accurate engine variations , mainly on the long engines .... anyway, thanks again for looking.

HJG... where rivet counting is not entirely frowned on I remember as a kid messing up the #1/4 and 2/3 engine pylons on my 1/72 Revell plastic model, and realising that someone had seen fit to make them quite different, for reasons beyond me at the time!

BOEING .. 707/717-ECs to KCs and C135s to boot, funny how so they look the part- I see that Classic 737 in the nose to, Sweet Screens
