Suchoi Su 33 naval fighter, Russian Navy
Kamov Ka 50... meanwhile the fate of this is unknown. Only 12 where build. The russian Army used meanwhile the Mil Mi 28N and the also two-seater Ka 52 "Aligator." If you fly this Helicopter in the simulation, you see, that the workload is immense vor only one with flying, navigationg, weapons use and counter mesures is high, to high in combat. The concept for a Attack-Helicopter with only one Pilot failed.
The old and venerable Mi 8TB... was the most flown helicopter of the Warshaw Pact and in all countries with soviet links. It was extensively used in Afghanistan and Chechenya.
These Mil Mi 8MTB are from Georgia.
And here we have one of the foe´s. You can fly it also on the side of the Georgians. The Fairchild A-10C.
Another Veteran you can fly (Add On) The Bell UH-1D
Note, these guys are from Israel.
Meanwhile I use DCS far more then the Microsoft Flight simulator. As you can see, it is not nessesary to fly in combat... The Landscape from The crimea to the Georgian Kaukasus is big enough for a lot of flying.
You get the free landscape from DCS from here:
http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/de/d...orld/dcs_world/
There are 5 parts. Included for for first flights there are two aircraft: the Notrth American TF-15D "Mustang"for fun-flying and the Suchoi Su 25T "Grach"/"Frogfoot" to learn something about russian weapons. This is Freeware! So you have the Landscape and two Aircraft to became a vision of it. The other aircraft are Addons. To install and use them is easy.
The Su 25A, Mig 29A,G,S, the Suchoi Su 27 and 33, Fairchild A-10A and the F-15C "Eagle" are part of Flaming cliff 3. These are aircraft for flight-simmers of medium experience.
The complex addons are the Ka 50 Tigershark, the Mil Mi 8 (offically "Beta" I see nothing incomplete) the Boeing/MDD F-15C (BETA) as more compley replacment for the one of Flaming cliff, the Bell UH-1D and last but not least a collection of Ground vehicles.

Well, it is not easy, to be an emigrant and lost his home. I see this with some new arrivals here in Potsdam from the Ukraine... I was long enough in the Ukraine that all the fighting touched my heart. But... yes meanwhile I have another point of view about the things there and nearly daily contact via Skype with friends in Odessa, Lwiw and Mykolajiv. The caotic situation with the insurgent american-related "Gouvernment" in Kiew and the "Entrussification"-plans and first signs of ethnic purge used by Swoboda and prawyj sektor give a lot of my friends no longer a clear perspective in the Ukraine. Think, we got in the next time a lot of refugees in Germany and Russia... frome both sides and from Crimea Tatarians from Crimea. In addition the poor boat refugees of Africa... In my eyes the beginning of a new worldwide migration....

Suchoi Su 27 "Flanker" from the very first production batch. These are (by "accident" ;-) aircraft from the russian Demonstration Team "Russiki Vityaz"

To be pedantic, it's an H model Wocka Wocka not a D and the F15 has the higher level flight model but the avionics are still FC3.
