After much a request for this paint scheme to be done properly, I decided to take a whirl at it myself. I've given PAV 800 the proper grey color scheme, with the properly colored yellow outlined red hour glass painted on the underside. Essentially it was just black in the stock scheme with the FSD YF-23. If you're interested let me know, and I'll package it up. unsure.gif

Looking super snazzy cool.gif ... during the competition I really was hoping this one would win against the 22... I don't have it tho.

Very cool Rick. Yes I'm keen, I have the FSD model, doesn't get out of the hangar much I must admit.

Released! Get it HERE.

I redid the panel lines, and it was a real head ache to get the worn look and the same grey all over...but I'm happy with it...could it be better? Sure! But I've asked for ages for this one, and no takers...so if you want me to edit it later I'd still consider it! My skills are getting better with each hurtle I've encountered...what's another one! LOL. I also moved and repainted the hour glass in the correct location for those of you knit-picky enough to notice! Well, according to the dirty vents on the pictures I've seen....it's possible the original textures for the vents are in the wrong spot...in which case... rolleyes.gif

Thanks guys! I'm hoping to be able to refine the specular a bit and get something that isn't so plastic model looking when the sunlight hits it. That's how it is with the stock ones. I would like to find some very fine texture set that has a fine polyurethane look to it and overlay that with the normal.map to create a more realistic texture in direct sun light. But I'll save those changes for another time...unless I get a heap load of complaints I'm moving on and back to the B58 VC and snoopy textures.

I guess the F-23 is now a museum piece , maybe the concept and theme is still alive, least you kept it way .. frankly I would have thought the design was more inline with the stealth idea .. guess its the typical politic,s that such far out ideas down.

Cheers Ian. Yeah she's a good looking machine that's for sure. A tincey bit of Blackbird there, and the nose does have a wee bit of F-22 about it

Great screens! If you're interested and are able to view it. Try this in depth DOCUMENTARY on the YF-23.

I just couldn't leave it alone...I redid the specular files to what I believe looks right. Now the exterior shines appropriately but doesn't give the notorious plastic model look. See below at SOH thread:
