He looks kinda cute with that greenhouse on the nose. But since the D version it looks like a giant insect who wants to murder you in your sleep, then rip you apart to feed him and his young ones!

Nice Screens AB and gives a good description between the early variant and the more common known ... I do like Roelio's comment "looks like a giant insect who wants to murder you in your sleep" .... It dose not look far from the truth.

The cockpit of the A model certainly looks much more roomier than the D.
Not sure how comfortable I would be over a battlefield in a flying glass box though. smile.gif

probably flies better than the poor nemeths and virtavia's attempts

Probably true, Matt!

The Nemeth's isn't too bad...at least it sits on the ground correctly and the forward speed is accurate. Beyond that though.....and I gave up on the Virtavia model long ago.

I really need an Mi-8....and by that I mean I need someone like Cera Simulations....not Nemeth...to create an Mi-8.

I've been so close to purchasing the DCS -8 so many times.... laugh.gif
I am planning on buying the MiG-21 addon when it's released...and I think I'll finally follow that up with the Mi-8 maybe around Christmas when the prices really drop!

EDIT: I do have Flaming Cliffs 3 and regularly fly the MiG-29 and Flanker series around. I actually find them easier to use and make sense of (from a systems logic perspective) than the F-15.

Looks like I'm going to give that a try. Shots look great. Where did you find the new blade textures??

Riga,Lidosta, Museum of soviet Air Force... this is a rare Example of an original Mil Mi 24A... a rare Bird. Think it is the Only A-Modell in an museum outside russia

... and this one is a Mil Mi 24D. This one you can find at the museum of the Chech Air Force in Prague Ruzyne

Sweet photo's , nice addition , strange one thing I do notice about Russian museums , no one seem to mow or manicure the lawns also another is the weeds growing up on the hard stands.

Ian, this is not in Russia. The museum in Riga, Latvia is in very desolate order because, the latvian Gouvernment didn´t want to do anything and safe the aircraft "of the damned russian occupants" (O-Tone of a latvian Nationalist Party-Leader, no better then the ukrainian Swoboda)
So all of the aircraft and helicopter are outside of hangars in a state of dereliction ... and this is the rarest and biggest collection of soviet aircraft and helicopters outside of Russia. It is a shame.
And the museum in Prague... is a part of the smal Chech Air Force with limited money. The Entry is free, but you can see, that the examples outside of the hangars have no protextion against the weather, especially in Winter. The good news is, that about half of the collection is in hangars.

Be a nice job if you got payed to look after the aircraft, you find the same sort ground maintenance on Russian museum grounds.
