Argh yes Kit Carson ..... i was in the Air Force with a "Kit " monroe ... nice chap , not sure where he is now.
What is "Kit" short for anyway ?

I'll have to dig that up for ya , think it was based from a cowboy magazine of the period .

I think Kit was His actual middle name (Leonard K Carson).

SP, "Kit" is a fairly common abbreviation of "Christopher" - you don't see it much these days though, since "Christopher" is too hard for today's teenage parents to spell, and of course there is no TV star on the vegie channels using that name either...

Bit of a mistake here, on further digging that is the 328th FG aircraft but also the 352FG carried the 'PE' fighter group - were the Famed 357th was Bud Anderson's and Chuck Yeager's group and this is were "Kit" Carson joined the squadron pre Xmas 1944.
