Now here's three things which really work well together -- Prepar3D, Lawrie's Omarama, and the Godzone Photoscenery...

Very nice. I spent many happy hours flying around those very hills back in the 70s. Good memories.

I also spent many hours there myself with the Otago Gliding Club. It brings back memories. I did my 5 hour flight for my silver 'C' there. In fact I was airborne for 6 and a half hours in wave over Amarama. Great gliding area.

I forgot to mention - my time there was also in the 70's. We may have crossed paths Scaber.

I too spent over 5 hours in a Blanik - I remember a very numb posterior at the end of that! I was flying with the Wiggies so probably just up the road from where you guys were based at that time so maybe we did cross paths at some stage. I do remember popping in to visit someone at the camp site but have no recollection of who or why.

I can't really remember, but I guess after 6 and a half hours sitting in a Skylark 2 I must have had a flat backside. Also done many hours in a Blanik. When the Otago Gliding Club purchased a brand new one in the mid 70's, the Auckland club retrieved it from the wharf, assembled it and aerotowed it to Woodbourne. Myself and someone else flew to Woodbourne in a Cub and aerotowed it back to Taieri. We had an overnight stay in Rangiora. It was a great flight being towed down the Kaikora coast. I had my B Cat instructors rating so did a lot of instructing in the Blanik, and also in a K13.
