FTX NZNI Night Lights

Definitely adds another layer of immersive environmentals to night flying, although with it's floors that have been highlighted in other threads.

To add to that list, I've observed the Port of Auckland is very under lit. It's the brightest things for miles (see photo), and you can see it almost from Whangarei up at 8000 feet on a clear night. The same goes for the Marsden Point Oil Refinery when flying the reverse direction.

Anyhow, for the locals, try and list the following locations. The first batch are obviously around Auckland, although split up into different parts of the city:

1. & 2.




3. & 4.




5.


6.


And on to the rest of the Island, 7 & 8:




9.


10. & 11.




12.


13.


14. & 15




16. and 17.




18- the same as 17, but a little higher up.

Nice Screens Andy cool.gif , I was talking about the Classic Redfision 737 simulator recently just comparing what we have today and when I took it for a drive everything then was black and white .. It was full motion and only night but I new exactly were I was in relation to the airport.

Wellington dose stick out like dogs balls ... I simple don't do enough night flying, all those twinkley thing would make me think I'm flying upside down.

Damm fine work Ardy/ Andy / Trolley ..... my night vision is shot , so i had no chance . You should be with me on a wet night , driving under those bloody yellow lights .... interesting unsure.gif
