Turned left out of the Milford Sound airport and was met with a textbook case of a box canyon. Luckily I was in a Twin Otter...



It seems like flying underpowered aircraft around here could be a deadly proposition.

Nice one Sean, I did see these parked at Christchurch and Tekapo in the early 1990s and were I am here only seen one go directly overhead on approach to NZCH Rwy29/11 ... never had the opportunity to spot in Milford cool.gif

That's what simulators are for! Take risks that you wouldn't in real life.

I got my A2A B17 into Milford .. course I reduced my fuel load, no bombs or bullets .. didn't want to whined up tourists and the greenies laugh.gif

Pah !! .. no probs in the sim. Turn off crash-detection, thump into the hill, drive it over the top, power off the ridge and you're away again laugh.gif

Both , It was a trick in planning that made it fun, think about what or how I was approach it and the couple times required to go around, its a fun challenge smile.gif
