Seems like only yesterday there was this twin jet called a DC9 and Eastern airlines. Whether or not Eastern actually flew DC9's is not germane.

For the history buffs, these are "steam gauges" - they required attention and a fair amount of finesse from the pilot.

cool.gif Sweet! , this was one aircraft that was so well done for FS2000, forgot who made it but it was an old DC-9-40 series, 2D cockpit only but the external model and textures for the time were absolutely brilliant, the only real DC-9 model I've seen in New Zealand was a C-9A Nightingale on the ramp on the Operation Deep Freeze ramp.

By 'Coolsky' with HD flightdeck by McPhat. A pure pleasure for this old frustrated airline pilot.

I do like the Classic 200 series 737, without hush kits off course, I had the opportunity to fly the Redvision 737-200 simulator in the 1980s .. nothing like those old gauges.. really McCoy hands on cool.gif

Love the older aircraft even though I'm part of the "younger" generation. The 737-200 is a personal favorite of mine, but I have had the opportunity on a couple of occasions to fly on Northwest DC-9s right before they went under.
