After an enforced absence due to Microsoft's incompetence and then an overseas job, I decided to reload FSX and have another go. For some reason, the problem I was having with the sim crashing when changing views seems to have vanished. This morning I finally bit the bullet and got FTX's NZSI and NZQN scenery just to see what all the fuss was about. I flew Dodosim's absolutely outstanding (but dating) Bell 206 from Queenstown to Milford. I was absolutely amazed at the quality. After a very low FPS departure out of Queenstown, the scenery started to look remarkably familiar to the point where crossing the Gertrude Saddle into Milford (a route I've flown in real life) the little alpine lakes showed up right on queue. Very impressive. Now if only ORBX had worked WITH the established NZ flight sim community in the first place....

Funny thing with PCs - they do the funky chicken, shut it down and leave for a week , switch back and ya head scratch wonder what the hell it was doing , I'm pleased the ORBX worked and it is a damn shame ORBX did not ask some off us who constantly work on airfield/photoreal/AGN and flattening to correct AIP information.

Yeh who knows with computers sometimes. Been exploring the South Island in the 206. Didn't get to Fox or Franz but flew all the way up the West Coast to Nelson. Pretty spectacular scenery really.

The last one is parked outside Murray Wootton's hanger in Nelson. Grumpy old ###### wants you to park on the concrete!
Screen Hunter does funny things for me. All of the images just turn out black.

I don't use screen hunter, simply use the the default capture tool .

Just a few more from my hooning around. Gfx card has a hard time keeping up with spectacular scenery.
