I'm not quite sure I understand "Outer Island" (oh, and shouldn't it be "Islands" <?>).

I have Stewart Island, Chatham Island, Pitt island, Auckland Island, Adam's Island (!!!), Campbell Island, Macquarie Island, White Island etc. ... but are we including the Cook Islands,Samoa, Rarotonga etc.?

Adam.

Long way out for a helicopter but it has been done before to the Auckland Islands from Invercargill in an emergency medical flight years ago.

:D , Nah ... here we go John Funnel Not the Auckland Island, but still even further - quiet a feat, tuned the helicopter into a flying fuel tank.
In April 1992, we flew a helicopter to Campbell Island to provide medical treatment and transfer of Mike Fraser - a New Zealand MetService employee - who had lost an arm in a shark attack back to Invercargill Hospital. A total flight distance there and back of 3600km.

Carenado 185 landing on the beach at Horseshoe Bay, Stewart Island. The beach at Horseshoe Bay was used often as an airstrip before Ryans Creek was built

I have very clear recollections of the start of a New Years Eve party on that beach! The end of it, not so clear...
Great shot though
