Not much of a shot .... proof of concept i suppose . Win 10 seems a lot more fsx friendly than 8 .

Great shot!
And you are braver than me, I'm sticking with Win8 for a bit to see how others fare

Same here, for a while, until my Win 8.1 breaks....

...!
I imagine that if you are not satisfied with your Windows 10 upgrade, you wont be able to "go back" to your old Win 8.1 again!
...that what worries me!...
Paul...often worried...

If you have Windows 8 or 8.1 then the recommendation from most "experts" is to upgrade. If you take the upgrade option over a clean install it backs up the old windows system so in the event of any issues a roll back is straight forward.
If you have Windows 7 then the recommendation is to hold fire for the time being.
A "TH2" upgrade is scheduled for release around October and another one, code named "Redstone", due next year. My bet is that "Redstone" will be a paid for option upgraded with extra features like the old Windows Pro or Ultimate versions or an equivalent subscription service.
It will be interesting to see how the DX12 support in Windows 10 will work in FS and if developers jump on board and recode their products. It is my understanding that a lot of the load currently tasked to the CPU will instead be "offloaded" to the GPU.
I'm a Windows 7 user on my main PC and I will probably stick with that a while longer and keep trialing the W10 on my laptop.

Well right now it doesn't work if you are using an SLI setup. DX12 currently only works on single GPU setups. If you have SLI you get DX11 instead

Does anything currently support DX12? Still doesn't seem to be any real gain with SLI. NVIDIA are really dragging the chain with offering a good SLI driver for P3D.
They seem more interested in goat and fishing simulations! Go figure.

I'm impressed, first a new computer and then before the dust settled from that move you're up and into Windows 10. Well done Captain. I've got Win10 in 2 machines and have verified that FSX runs just fine but have yet to upgrade my main computer - will be waiting a bit for the brew to mature a bit more for my main rig.

Thanks Greg ..... its been a leap of faith from XP home to WIN10 , but it seems to be fine , in fact no problems so far.
Next move will be a new i5 cpu , and all should be good .
I do have an issue with reinstalling my REX , but thats for later.
Thanks for looking.
