The A330's deck is lower at the nose than the tail end, so to get a flat cargo deck they added the hump to raise it up at the front. :plane:

You know, I've read that out loud to myself a couple of times now, and I'm still going "Say What??"

Been wondering meself - my first thought was they wanted to extend the level deck to squeeze in another standard IATA container, so they added the bulge to lower some gear that was in the way...

Hmm, I edited part of it without rereading it..... I'll just copy paste something :D

The standard A330 has a pronounced nose down attitude which is a problem for Cargo loading.

The -F version has a different nose wheel arrangement and modification (with resultant bump) allowing for a basically level fuselage while on the ground by 'elevating the nose'.
