Don't forget, it came out before Accusim. I hate to say it but it's been outclassed by A2As Spit simply on atmosphere. That machine really feels alive, popping and farting at idle. RealAir Spit was good for it's day in terms of systems and it still looks pretty but I like atmosphere.

Such an iconic shape, there's probably nothing more instantly recognisable for us baby boomers, and you've caught it perfectly in these shots.
I bet most baby boomers had a model of the Spit when they were little, this aircraft was probably the earliest introduction to aviation for a lot of us -- including me.
So for someone like me -- 50 years on -- it's such a thrill to be able to blat around in it in the sim.

Cheers Nick ... and your right of course. Its just that I've been in love with the old thing for so long its hard to think of it slowly fading away .
Adrian B reworked the sound for the Griffon engine , so i do get the "pops" ....sounds great in flyby.
Good to see JK pumping out repaints for it as well .
Thanks for looking

And thought eight would have covered the history development marks and models and war history and photo reference.

The 'DW' code was a 610 squadron during the Battle of Britain based at Biggin Hill , I'd have to check if it change later in the war.
