I may replace this with a better pic - but the aircraft will still be the Chipmunk, I think - because it has a very special place in my heart:

Image

The story:
When I was a teenager (and thankfully not spotty) - my first camp with the school cadets was at RAF Coningsby (then an active nuclear V-bomber base). Not only did I get to sit in a Spitfire, but I also got my first ever flight in any aircraft (holidays in those days went by bus or rail).

The pilots at RAF Coningsby during the Cold War were under a fair bit of strain (24-hr standby and 4-minute scrambles/take-offs), so their favourite leisure pastime was a competition to make their "air experience" cadet puke in the shortest possible time. Bonus points were awarded for spectacular face colours or technicolour decorations on our (up until then) clean navy blue uniforms. Various methods were used - including flying inverted 6ft above fishermen in the canals/rivers, mock attacks on other unsuspecting Chipmunks, accompanied by the inevitable "takakakakakaka" over the r/t, and cutting the engine (also when inverted). In short - these pilots were *crazy*.

Having buzzed the local fishermen inverted, my pilot asked me if I wanted "to have a go on a ferris wheel". I hadn't a clue what he was talking about (and didn't even say "yes") before finding myself in a knife-edge turn going round and round the local fairground ferris wheel (at Boston, on the Lincolnshire coast). I'm not sure who was more terrified - me or the occupants of the ride. Lots more epic stories from that particular camp - most of which involved Avro Vulcans in some way.

So ... the only way I could mimic this in P3D was to take the JF Chipmunk around the London Eye. A bit difficult to frame as there appear to be a lot more tall buildings in 2016 London than there were around Boston in the 1960s!

Adam.

I appear to have a good old-fashioned Polish stomach that not only has the digestive juices of a snake but also seems to be impossible to disturb. Polaks hate the idea of wasting good food LOL. I've never been seasick either.

So ... yes ... my uniform was as spotless as my face, hahahaha!
