Keeping The Dream Alive

I'm sure this is has been posted on here before but in case anyone hasn't seen it... I'm a huge fan of the DC3 / C-47 but I love the turbine conversions also.... possibly more. Innovative companies like Basler and the less well known Braddick breathe new life into the classic airframe. There are a couple of turbo C47s for FSX.

The Basler:

The Braddick:

In FSX, the panel is common for both. In real life The main panel is more or less the same for both but the upper panel for the Braddick is quite different. These aircraft are custom built for customers though.

These two aircraft are payware quality for the best price... Free.

Also a big fan of the DC3, and didnt know the turbine retrofit existed in either real world or fsx! Thanks for posting.
what has been done with the sound in fsx? As this is one of the reasons I love the standard... turn the volume up, sub-woofer thumping
Looking forward to the flightdeck update too...

The Basler is made in Oshkosh Basler Turbo C47 Conversions and the Braddick is made in South Africa BSAS. The sound unfortunately the default King Air. I've got some freeware PT6 sounds with the flap and gear sounds from the TW Radial Sound Package. Both aircraft use different versions of the PT6.

A bit of a one stop shop for the base model, repaints and some videos of the real thing.

HD gauges, spray effects and some sounds (not the ones I use)

The sounds I use. As I said before, I've changed the gear and flap sounds with the ones from the TW Radial Sound Package.

The Braddick. It's the same model and panel as the Basler just with different nacelles.

Great post Nick .... and thanks for the links .
When you think about it , there must be dozens of Dak air frames around that could be retrofitted .... no problems with pressurization stress , just clean it up and throw on some modern engines and avionics .

Yep. Companies like that are going to keep the airframe flying for another 50 years.
