OLT Express Germany OLT Ostfriesische Lufttransport was a Regional Carrier in North Germany, in Frisia, operated from Emden to have a faster journey to the East Frisian Islands Later they moved to Bremen and want to participate in flights all around Europe. But... this step was to big. OLT Express Germany ceased all operations on 27 January 2013 due to financial difficulties. The company filed for bankruptcy two days later.

But today we go back in times, the OLT was still in existence and fly a little leg from Münster Osnabrück International Airport , the Airport of the Cities Münster and Osnabrück . These cities have a rich history. The Main point of the history was the End of the Thirty Years' War and the end of it with the Peace of Westphalia signed in these towns.

But now we want to fly a little bit. Today we have hazy Wheather but this is not a problem for us.

Image

Our aircraft today is a Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner ... an aircraft not very often seen in Germany. The last carrier, that has this aircraft in use today is called Bin Air ...

You can see my first fault here. Under normal circumstances the aircraft is towed from the Gate and only after this you may start the engines...

Image

Today we are not alone... a Lufthansa Boeing 737-300 us also underway to fly to Hannover.

Image

O.k. we are underway...

Heading north.

Image

Here You can see, that we are in a game here. In reality it is strictly forbidden to fly so near to a Nuclear Power Station. In reality you have not much later an Interceptor on your tail.

Image

For this flight we fly a little bit over the Netherlands. This is not uncommon in the EU airspace.

Image

Image

We left the Mainland and flying of the North Sea...

Image

We reach the East frisian Islands. This one is Norderney

Image

Here we have a view to the Islands in the neighborhood of Norderney... Baltrum , Langeoogand a bit away Spiekeroog .

Image

And now the last leg and the approach to Sylt

Image

On Final... I am not amused about the view from the cockpit to the runway in this aircraft...

Image

Image

We have left the runway amd have a look at an Lufthansa Airbus 321 from Munich...

Image

We came to stop and shut down the Engines. The passengers left us...

Image

You can always have fun with a smaler aircraft on an Regional Flight like this. This was one hour of flight. The flight from Mineralnye Wody to Tashkent was much longer...

One aircraft that when I saw first overhead low high speed past it looked impressive around 1984/5 just as they were getting introduced.

Meanwhile the Metroliner is a very rare bird... in Europa. I like this aircraft in the simulation. It is a small thing and for passengers not very comfortable. She is not always easy to fly, has a bit "Character" ... I know, that RAZBAM has the Embraer EMB 120 "Brasilia" in the works to....

I was never amused about the view either, you had to fly with your head over to over side all the time, still better than having the windows fall out :D

I notice the Angle of Attack guage is either broken or you are getting really slow on final :o

All in all it was a wonderfull flight. It is not nessesary to fly always the "big ships" o have fun. Flying regional airliners and GA aircraft, it is better to make some "flying over the landscape"...
