Spitfire over Queenstown

Postby scaber » Sun Feb 21, 2016 9:19 pm

Took the Spitfire for a flight this evening over Queenstown. I was struck by the lighting with The Remarkables behind the spit. I thought that I should share what to me was a magical moment. A lovely flight in great scenic conditions. I hope you all appreciate this even though it is a second hand experience for you only experiencing it through this image.

Nice shot mate. I know exactly what you're talking about. Every now and again, I'll see a similar shot where the lighting just works even on my hunk o junk laptop. Damned if I can recreate it later though...

Greg
That deserves a frame ! As we discussed on Sunday , the "tight"shots have their place , but can lack something.
What you (and others here) have done with the wide view , is , in my humble opinion , beautifully combine the machine and its environment .... with equal focus on both ...if that makes sense.

Nothing wrong with anything you post Nick ...and at least you post !(Screens , reviews, links, critique , photos )
Your input comes from a few directions and is always appreciated.

Yes Marty, I like the 'Plane in landscape' shots - "in your face" shots, zoomed to distortion, just don't do it for me

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Why thank you Marty, I'm tending a bit to wider shots lately, both in FSX/P3D and in my own photography - maybe it's a reflection on my wider waist line!!

It would be interesting to see how this would print out, I've never tried one from a screen capture.

Know what you mean, that's why I stopped to capture this and then completely forgot about landing the aircraft .. . .

Yeah, sometimes we are just plane lucky! It's good when it happens so I guess we need to make the most of it

PS - Pun intended, otherwise I would have corrected the spelling!!
