Milviz Super Sabre - March Screencomp Prize

At the risk of sounding like an Oscar speech ...

1) Thanks to everyone that voted for me (you know who you are!!!).

2) Thanks to Doug for running the comp.

3) Last - but not least - thanks to MilViz for such a generous prize.

I have (among other MilViz aircraft) the F-86 Sabre - which is totally brilliant - so I knew I was in for a treat! The F-100D is superbly modelled - inside and out. A VC that ookis just right ie. not spanking brand new/AutoCAD style and not over-worn.

I cheated and used the auto-start and sat back and watched the invisible pilot flip all the switches to start up. Amazing. Weapon loadout was easy, but I've yet to play with the TACPAC features. I don't think the inhabitants of the Coromandel Peninsula would appreciate it being used as a bombing range LOL!

A highly recommended add-on. If anyone's "sitting on the fence", I'd say "just geddit"! MilViz are carving their way into the niche/specialist developers slot - great to see!

Watch out ... the Christchurch area is next on the target list!!

The first two are Jankees Blom's repaints ...

A stray Danish one:

Reminds me very much of the F-105 Thunderchief (except that one has a pointy nose!).

The ThunderChief is one hell off an aircraft , twice as big and twice as heavy ...... forgot nearly twice as fast and got its self into more trouble in Vietnam for the sodded Jet Jocks .. along the side of the Phantom the F-105 would be the real sparkler.

Lost in translation is the implied question mark :D - to which I have to reply "... I've always been mad ..." (isn't that a quote from Pink Floyd, I wonder?).

Bit of a moot point, as I haven't worked out how to drop bombs yet. But I will! Nyah-hah-hah [fx: more mad cackling] :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r:

Great screens! I definitely would've taken this bird if I won the screencomp last month!

To add something to the whole Polish thing: 'Nie mowie po Polsku'. I can't think of another sentence I've used more than that one during my few months in Łódź ;) Except for the words 'Piwo' (beer of cousrse) and Drukuj! Which means print, but it became the word for 'cheers' at the flightschool since most students can't pronounce 'Na zdrowie' :D . So if you're ever in a bar in Łódź and you hear 'drukuj' then you know they are students at Bartolini Air

This was a fantastic opportunity to work on this one as a Beta Tester and as providing some Textures for the release package. Was a brilliant job by the Milviz guys.

Great screens!

Working on this one now...Fonts are wrong....WIP

Good to see you've turned down the rivets and panel lines a bit! I find them a tad overdone in most of the repaints.
