Captain Sim 727 - in P3D - Screenshot comp thank you!

Firstly - a big thank you to all you ghouls that happily voted for the blue jeans avatar to get the chop (literally!!!). He deserves it, IMHO

Secondly - a big thank you to Captain Sim (Tanya) for putting up such a great prize. I've had CS products since their original C-130 Hercules (still going strong in my P3D, BTW!).

Lastly - as ever - to Uncle Doug for all his work behind the scenes.

Here's our RNZAF variant - near Nelson, NZNS.

The VC is excellent - so I'll put up some more shots soon!

A brilliant choose B-) , I brought the DVD version from JUSTFLIGHT around 2002, worked fine in FS9 so brought the FSX because I was so impressed with it , love extra UDF and the private jet as well with this package.

What version of P3D do you have the 727 and C130 working in? Is this the original FSX C130 by Captain Sim? Much mucking around to get it to work?

Latest P3Dv3.3. I still have my FSX active (on another partition) so I just copied all the files over manually - making sure I found all the gauges, effects etc. CS are quite good in that respect, as all their files have logical names that you can identify.

Thanks Adam. Did you try the migration tool...although I'm not sure that it is updated to 3.3.5.
Any issues with 3.3 after the hotfix? There seems to be a bit on incoherent rambling on the forums about it.

I've never used the Migration Tool. I have a dummy fsx.exe in my P3Dv3 root folder so the odd installer can find it - but mostly I just copy things manually. Because I still have FSX active, I don't get any [re]activation prompts - as the values are still in the registry.

No issues so far with the Hotfix. But then I didn't have any issues prior to it. The only paid scenery I have is ORBX - and most of the places I've visited recently seemed fine. I'm one of the lucky ones, I suppose - I've not had any serious issues with P3D or all the recent jiggery-pokery with ORBX/FTX. There again, I don't have Global.

I think the problem is that the .bgl thing is complex (and technical). I ignore most of the posts and concentrate on ones posted by the developers themselves (Alex Goff, for instance).

Marty - you're a closet Polak!!! Your Polish is perfect! I really must sort out a Polak Windows keyboard so I can reply properly (and confuse NZFFers even more)!

As promised, here are a couple of shots of the superb CS VC for the 727. It's a work of art - lots of lovely steam gauges and working weather radar. Very reminiscent of the CS flagship: the C-130 Hercules.

It is a gorgeous VC, the biggest thing is the other external variants added to the package. B-)

Ian - do you (by any chance) happen to have the native P3D version? I have exterior glass transparency issues in the the P3Dv3 version that I didn't have in FSX (or my manual "portover" to P3D). I posted on the CS forums, but they're not the busiest in the world.

I tried messing with alpha for a few of the files - but either I wasn't doing it right, or the flags are set in the .mdl file.

It's still a *superb* add-on.

No .... still not in P3D mode yet , tell you one thing, the 737 is ideal to follow through with the historical reference of the history of the 737 in New Zealand form NZCH to NZQN , I did use the 727 many times for this .. BUGGER about the glazing , I wonder how easy it would be to modify the alpha's to suit P3D ? .
