You would be most popular spawning on the runway when on VATSIM Ian!

Well, if you do, it'll cause problems, a controller can even call a Supervisor in via a command called .wallop

I am a VATSIM ATC controller myself with VATSIM New Zealand (VATNZ). Cowpatz, I bet you fly on VATSIM sometimes, do you? Ian doesn't ever come on. Need to look for his VATSIM CID or?

Haven't played on VATSIM for a while now but I got into a lot of trouble coming into Auckland long finals on opposite runway direction with NO RADIO, . The controller eventually got everybody to 'hold' and I got down, also got a telling off!

VATSIM was relatively new back in 2002 and they a display co-inside with the FS2004 (FS9) release incoming in a computer shop in the city, even back then they got carried away like they thought they were getting payed for it ... it was suppose to be an operational demo , really there should be a code for the new comers and invite .. they do get carried away.

I had a better time later with our own multiplay I setup ... ATC , was done by an up and coming real McCoy ATC guy Nick Beattie who now works at Christchurch , Nick was training in Dunedin so organized ACT procedures the tower in FS9 , while the fights were incoming what he did was explain the procedure and the use of our VFG-API for NZDN .. for the ones who were a little unsure , Nick talked them thru it , one night there was between 15 and 20 , I come in from Christchurch (off Course) and was able to pick exactly what was going on , I was running the sever and comm's , fun times.

I haven't been on VATSIM for quite sometime now. I used to be a regular both flying and controlling around 3 or 4 years ago. When things settle down I will most likely get back on.

Oh bugger! There's the text only option, as well as the receive voice option then full voice receive and transmit option. Don't see how you'd have radio problems. Once ended up with a radio problem on descent into NZWN on October 1st during the VATNZ Auckland Real Ops event, although Teamspeak voice was running good, VATSIM voice from vPilot (new pilot client from 2014) wasn't and I had to disconnect off VATSIM. Or otherwise squawk 7600 and declare a radio problem on text which the Wellington TMA (NZWN_APP) controller doesn't want to accept.

Hmm. What pilot rating or what controller rating did you have? And what division were you part of? I'm a Tower controller (S2) with Procedural Tower endorsement (towers with no radar equipment) and I have a VATSIM P1 Online Pilot rating. So yeah feel free to come back some time and you might see me control some positions, mostly Auckland Tower (NZAA_TWR) or so.
