In the not-too-distant-future...
I've been looking at ways to improve the Prepar3d water, especially how it shows photoscenery, as this is one area which has never compared well with FSX. Using PTA I've managed to get a good look at the photoreal water, which shows a bit of under-water detail, and the actual colour of the water itself.
To try it out, I fired up a saved flight over the Otago Harbour, where it's been a bit of a problem getting the water detail to show.
I was side-tracked by the ship entering Port Chalmers, I'd finally got around to installing the VLC shipping package into Prepar3d, so it's always good to see some shipping. But wait, what's that beyond the Port? Let's have a closer look... This seemed very prophetic, our US overlords with a show of power in the Pacific... Times like this we could do with an air force.
The bloke standing guard over the harbour would turn in his grave at the state of the world these days.
