Thanks to hasegawa for reminding me to transfer this beauty to P3Dv4:

One of my favourite jets of all time. So gorgeous in a sim, but simply awesome to see in RL.

Dare I say it, but this aircraft happens to have a "hump" B-)

Heh - thanks! I have so many fond memories of playing (and beta-testing) the Su-27 for Eagle Dynamics. A great bunch of people. Somehow, the Flanker sort of "imprinted" on me: it really is a staggeringly beautiful aircraft, IMHO.

One great UK documentary describes the conversation when it was first displayed at the Paris Air Show. Asked what he would do if one of these got anywhere near him, one pilot simply said "Eject!".

The DCS version of the Su-27 range is incredible but, for some reason, I find it [too] hard to get into that sim - even though it's partly the same crowd I used to work with.

As somebody know, I am German, but from the other side, the former GDR and in the end of the 1980´s the advent of the Su 27 of the Air Group of the USSR in the GDR and the first Mikojan Gurevich MiG 29A at our Air Force gave as after a long time the feeling: Now can we fight on even terms. With the MiG 21 and 23, outclassed in almost every respect by the F-15 and F-16 it was hopeless and a massacre to give our pilots the order do do battle.
