Following Kiwi1aSpad's recent "Firebrand" post, I thought I'd dig around for some more freeware offerings. I couldn't get the Firebrand to work (shame!!) but I've acquired some classic aircraft.

It always amazes me how much talent there is out there - and how generously given. Here are some freeware "oldies" from various eras:

Fairey Barracuda - almost as beautiful [!] as the Fairey Battle:


Team KBT have updated their P-3 Orion - seen here over Whenuapai (NZWP):




Robert Richardson's Hunting-Percival Pembroke:


Robert Richardson's superb Supermarine Scimitar:




Another one from Robert Richardson- the De Havilland Sea Venom:







The JBK Viscount over NZSI:




All these aircraft look great - and have good/working virtual cockpits/gauges etc.

Lastly - not a freeware aircraft, but Jankees' livery is!

Also, screenshots of the NAC plane over mountains are amazing! What mountains are those?

The Orion was on its way from Ardmore (NZAR) towards the RNZAF air base at Whenuapai (NZWP). You can see central Auckland in the background.

The mountain pics were all taken in the area between Queenstown (NZQN) and Milford Sound (NZMF). On my bucket list to see in RL!!
