Welcome to Locher
This excellent freeware addon was recently released and it is fantastic! Forget Saba, forget Courchevel, forget St. Barths, forget Lukla. THIS is a real challenge!
Located in the Italian Dolomites, 9NM from Bolzano, Locher airfield it is squeezed in a valley with powerlines, trees, a church and of course: mountains on the approach. Going around is not possible, so you better do it right the first time. It is privately owned and the owner owns a Pilatus PC-12, a Pocket Rocket (which is a home-build VLA with a 450HP Allison Turbine engine, because you need power if you want to take off here) and an Aviat Husyky A-1C STOL aircraft.
Anyways, I dragged the Carenado PC-12 out of the hangar to get a little feeling on how the owner of this incredible airfield must feel!

Just a view of the airfield in all of it's craziness

The approach and departure path

The climbing already starts at the ramp

But the climbing it doesn't stop there...

Literally looking down the "runway"

We need full throttle and 2/3 of flaps to get out of here

But it can be done!

Barely clearing the trees and powerlines just behind the "threshold"

Climbing through the valley, clearing another set of powerlines

Now we're safe. Well sort of, there are still mountains on both sides

Climbing to cruising altitude, in the distance lays the city of Bolzano
You can download this scenery here:

And a video how the approach is flown in real life:

I hope you enjoyed these pics! They will probably be the last P3D V3.4 screenshots you'll see from me, as I will be upgrading to V4 very soon!
