I say thank you, Henk!

With the help of some very clever and dedicated guys and Arno's fantastic MCX tool we at MAIW are very slowly converting the FS9 legacy models to true FSX or P3D models, therefore bringing them over into the new P3Dv4 world. This is Mike Pearsons RF-4 Phantom.

Very nice... out of idle curiosity: why bother with FSX, it is surely as "dead" as FS9??
At least P3D is in development, albeit you have to reinvent everything every time LM decide to up the ante a bit in successive versions!

The concept is building while we go, Charl.

It seems to come down to this rule-of-thumb: FS9 jets usually do great in FSX and will be converted as P3D models. FS9 props on the other hand have already several glitches in FSX (Cloud and scenery see through etc.). So here a FSX model is also beneficial (which will do perfectly fine in P3D).
In most cases there is only one conversion to either target platform (way too many models to do with very few clever people who can do it - I am not one of them...).

This is what we have done so far:

MAIW AIG Pilatus PC-12 (P3D)
MAIW CIS Antonov AN-26 Curl (P3D)
MAIW CJAU Grob Vigilante (FSX)
MAIW CJAU Slingsby Firefly (FSX)
MAIW HTAI Beechcraft C-12J Huron (FSX)
MAIW HTAI Beechcraft King Air Family (FSX)
MAIW HTAI de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter (FSX)
MAIW HTAI General Dynamics F-16 Family (FSX)
MAIW HTAI Gulfstream Family (FSX)
MAIW HTAI Lockheed C-130 Hercules Family (FSX)
MAIW HTAI Lockheed C-141 Starlifter (FSX)
MAIW HTAI Mitsubishi F-2 [F-16C_D Drag Chute] (FSX)
MAIW JAI Lockheed P-3 Orion Family (FSX)
MAIW NBAI Airbus A400M Atlas (FSX)
MAIW NBAI Airbus A400M Atlas (P3D)
MAIW NBAI BAe Hawk T1 (FSX)
MAIW NBAI Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor (P3D)
MAIW NBAI McDonnell Douglas FA-18 Hornet Family (FSX)
MAIW RATS Ilyushin IL-76 Candid (P3D)
MAIW RWAI Boeing C-17 Globemaster III (P3D)

These packages combine every paint and flight plan for the respective aircraft ever done by MAIW.

The last weeks were a period of learning & doing, learning how to do things better and re-do things. Here you see Henk's conversion of Mike's B-52, Nick's Harrier and Menno's SR-71 and XB-70.

Plus Tony's conversion of Pascal's C-5 which has made a visit to Belgium and is taking off Brussels on her way back home.

A lot of heavy metal.... :wink2:

Packages will start to become available these days at MAIW.

Have a look at Nick's B-1, converted by Gavin for FSX and Henk for P3D.

Great series. I love #2 of the Il-76 the most!

Spectacular shots... I admit to being initially skeptical, but P3D looks to be the new FS2004!
Is there an AI effort in XP11?

I have no clue, Charl. I never had X-Plane.
For a few weeks when it became obvious that FS9 compatibility was broken in P3Dv4 I thought "well, this was it", but then Arno had another kiss of genius and MCX could suddenly convert aircraft.

We now have the approval of about every relevant military AI modeller to convert the models except the vanished Fernando Martinez.

Actually... making a quick stop at MAIW and seeing John Young's amazing set of F-35 (for FS2004, FSX + P3D!), I am soo tempted to have a go at installing my backed-up FS9.5 juggernaut on my new bleeding-edge computer. Just imagine...
Alas I have no optical drive to do the base install!

Find a way to get P3Dv4, Charl. I think you will love it....

It's a strange thing, given my interest in military aviation:
I can't bring myself to pay a manufacturer of cluster bombs and other outlawed weaponry, to beta test software they purvey under a false licensing pretense.
I'm not usually that prissy, but as long as there are alternatives... :)
