That first one...the P3 is shot from a perspective of maybe 50m away?
(You see the starboard engine head-on but the port outer shows plenty of side.)
Now putting it in the ship picture with that perspective, places it in front of the ship.
(The ship is maybe 250m away.)
So the eye tells the brain that for the aircraft to subtend that angle at the lens, it must be the size of a Cessna!
