By sheer coincidence, I happen to be halfway through an e-book about the RAAF Lancaster crews, in which 463 Sqn plays a large part. Their CO was W Cdr Rollo Kingsford-Smith, a nephew of Sir Charles. The Air Force incorrectly put a hyphen in the name. Charles and his brothers had Kingsford as their middle name and the surname was just plain Smith. Great model, great paint, although the squadron letters don't seem right. Interesting. ATB, Mike
MikeW 'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'
Isn't history great ...wrong or right( depending on your view), or someplace in between. The thing is the input ... the little things that can make changes, and clarify some points that otherwise would have been taken as fact. Inside knowledge ... great stuff.
My goodness, I'm starting to sound like someone we all miss....
