After the version 1.xxx of "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover" wich was nearly unflyable because of several Bugs and to hardware-hungry The new "BLITZ"-Version is far better. And, if You do not want to fly only into combat... but if You want, this simulation is fit for sightseeing about Southern England and the french Chanel Coast as well in 1940... There are a lot of landmarks and typical things from 1940, like the Chain Home Radar-Stations...
Here some views from London.

Yes... it looks "a bit death" here. But in Dogfight nobody has time to see this. But with this sort of flying it is not to overseen.

Brings back memories of my Mum, Dad, and myself getting Bombed out, during the blitz of the City of London, by the Hun in 1940, to evacuate to the County of Herefordshire in relative safety.

With Gas masks at Paddington Station.

Even at the age of 6 at the time, I remember it all very well!

Never again...I hope!

Paul...A London Cockney from the past!

I must admit, for that reason, I'm not too fond of Military Aircraft and Aerial Warfare Sims ever since!...

...my trusty Cessna 150 Aerobat is my favourite means of aerial transport!.... :wink2: ...!

I have sometimes the same feeling and have an aversion to fly B-17, -24, -29, Avro Lancaster,Handley Page "Halifax"... .... Parts of my family were in Dresden February 13/14th, 1945. They came as refugees from Silesia...
