The Coromandel would make a great FS2 project, that's for sure.

The cultivation features are not quite there yet, for instance I'm not sure how to add a native bush vegetation set, so this is just the 'standard' two sets, 'conifer' for pine, and 'broadleaf' for native bush, which luckily blends the colour well. Once again, no individual trees, and there is no 'simple' way to do this, comparable to autogen's 'annotation'.
The cultivation is all data-driven with LINZ topo data -- about 1.5 million trees plus 80,000-odd buildings, created with ScenProc: brilliant. I started the automatic process when I went for my walk today after work, and it took a couple of hours to complete.

That looks great, Rob! I discovered USGS has a sidekick called Earthexplorer which covers areas outside the mainland US and requires a registration/login nuisance. After jumping through many hoops, I now have a DEM and a GeoTiff covering the Chathams. That was quite enuff for the day. Their interactive map is by Google, and shows a warning that it is not available for download (the map is also watermarked). I had no trouble d/l a GeoTiff and a DEM for my selected area. I will need to review their licencing. They spell it wrong for a start!
At the moment I am at the point of chucking the whole lot out and starting over from scratch. I hope the AeroScenery Geoconverter will let me nominate a simple filepath rather than a URL to bring in the elevation data. It only offers me Google or Bing as it stands.
No more work. Today it is 50 years since I first set foot in Oz. It is also a Public Holiday in Qld, which makes up for the lost PH for my birthday in May B-)

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

That's the thing with PR scenery... it just lights up when you know the area.
SO GOOD... DON'T STOP NOW.

EDIT: Mike, Oz has not been the same since 1968, true.
