Bonanza Down South

With the sales on at the moment, I got into the Carenado V35 Bonanza with the REP. For those not familiar, it's like Accusim for XP. Right now, the two Bonanzas, Baron and Cessna 210 from Carenado have packs, as well as the default 172 and Baron. The model is old now so it can't hold a candle to A2As one but for the pure flying enjoyment, it's great. Just did a short flight from Haast to Queenstown. Far too much fuel for the trip, wobbled all down the centerline at both airports... lots to improve on.

Nice! Looks like there is fair amount of add ons now for xplane which makes it mighty tempting. What scenery do you have loaded?

It's really getting there now. Lots of manufacturers are starting to develop addons for XP. The base sim is, in my opinion, better and is far more open than FSX/P3D. The default flight model is far more fluid and dynamic. The scenery is Lyndiman's Orthographic scenery. New mesh tiles. It's not perfect though and a lot of the smaller rivers aren't included in the mesh so they're in texture form only. The forests aren't tidied up either so you get a lot of trees where there are none. At medium and high level though, it's not really an issue.

I flew from Queenstown back to Haast the other night. Crap weather yet again.... I think that I'm starting to get the feel for the machine but I can see why they call it the doctor killer... You've really got to bring your A Game.
