First look at Prepar3d v4.4

Mostly the Alps, but a few Wellington, just to show the photoscenery.
This is the new default Carenado AC11 Commander, this is a good addition which even I can handle...

These shots are untouched, original size, but have been resaved. They are hosted on my own site, to preserve the size, but you'll still need to jump through hoops on the forum to see them full-sized... worth it, though, to check out the distant detail. They are 1920x1080, so just clicking on them still doesn't make them full-sized, you really need a browser which lets you right-click/view full size.

The first Wellington shot shows the South Island in the distance, still sharp and detailed!

Nice work indeed Rob, as always.

I'm not sure what it all means .... looks much the same to me.

The big thing is ...will my soon to be released new tree fit in here? :ph43r:
I may have to go back to the design team...and to use the latest lingo  "looking forward, see if we can find a good fit"

Nuh .... just taking the "P"

Snowcapped mountains LOOK amazing to me. Is it P3D4 default or add on scenery? Do you like P3DV4 better than FSX?

Regards,

Aharon

Pretty sure this is Robs subscription photoreal scenery? Aharon I don't think you use ORBX, so if not, you certainly should get Godzone's PR scenery. Simply outstanding.

Marty, is your tree going to be PBR? (which no matter how much I want it to be true, does not stand for 'peanut butter.') I've been thinking about the properties of a physics-based rendered tree; can you hug it? can you fall out of it? (Those are both things I've physically done to trees lately.) In answer to you question whether it will fit in, this depends on the tree -- in the Wellington scenery, it should be a Ngaio tree, and of course down south we have the famous 'Wanaka' tree...

Yeah, I should have supplied more details -- the scenery is my own, actually both of these areas are in the subscription, so not available at the moment. Yes, I'm a fan of Prepar3d, I still have FSX as I still develop scenery for it, but I don't 'use' it unless I'm testing scenery. Every working on scenery for it is a lot more difficult -- and annoying -- that Prepar3d. I'll be glad when nobody uses FSX...

One more PBR-based question:
Does a tree have Fresnel? (That's actually a trick question.)
