This month, Captainsim are sponsoring our competition for the first time. This means that the person who wins with the best screenshot this month will receive any product they want from the Captainsim range which can be viewed at their website: www.captainsim.com ... Now that's an incentive for you all to enter!
--------------------

Here is our 12th monthly Screenshot Competition, which is free to enter for all the members of NZFF.

This month's rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from FS2004 or FSX, and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be as close as possible to 984 pixels wide- read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot. Please keep a high res version saved on your computer as the admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert it into a site banner!

3) Images can be submitted from March 31st to April 30th 2007, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one.

4) On April 30th, a poll will open and run for a few days to decide who has the best image, then the winner will have a cropped version of their image appear in the NZFF banner as well as receiving the Captainsim prize!

5) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

6) This month's theme is 'Spitfire' ... how you interpret that is up to you, there are plenty of freeware models available, as well as payone ones.. be creative!

7) As we are offering payware prizes, each member who enters must have at least a 2 month membership (signed up before the end of January) at NZFF before they can enter.

All the best to everyone who enters, now let the games begin! :ph43r:

 I assume you mean January 31st?
In which case, I'll have to wait until next month :( but never mind, It'll give me more time to see what it takes to produce a winning screenshot :)

I have Aeroplane Heaven's K5054 (the prototype), she handles like a dream and is chocka with detail. Love taking her around the Marlborough skies on a sunny day!  :plane:

Also got some freeware ones by Paul Rebuffat, lots of late marks available - I have a clipped, high-back XVIe and also a IX in the marks of MH434, the late Ray Hanna's mount.

I haven't yet tried the RealAir one, but I'm beginning to get seriously tempted!

BTW To the winner of the contest, grab their Yak-3 - FANTASTIC! Absolutely love her to bits! Screenies tomorrow hopefully.

I'll kick it off with this shot - Mk XIV over Lake Wanaka (sorry for so many Wanaka shots lately). I've changed the way I do my shots so I hope this one is crisper and clearer than past shots. - shot changed 4/4/07

These are the Spitfires I know of (and there must be more freeware ones out there):

Realair Mk XIV Highback - real nice (Payware)

Plane Design Mk XVI Lowback - don't have but heard it is very good as well (Payware)

Just Flight - all Merlin Highback models I think - probably not as good as the above two but you can get a free demo Mk 1 somewhere (Payware)

Cheers

shockwave have released their new spitfire for £11 - it looks very tasty:
http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/for ... php?t=7040

realair as i'm sure we all know is a very nice package.
www.realairsimulations.com

plane design griffon spit. my favourite looking spitfire. it has an amazing exterior but the interior isn't as good as the others. apparently the dynamics are spot on.
www.plane-design.com

aeroplane heavens spitfires look a bit dated now but they're cheap. They're very good to look at, they sound ok. i know a number of people picked up on their free offer last year to get the prototype. they also have a free schmittfire of a little lesser quality.

there are a number of high quality german aircraft both freeware and pay if you want to show some air battles like bf109's and stuff.

i don't know any planes that spit fire.
