Around Thames in AFS2

Scenery by Rob Corn, planes by Krzysk. Both beta WIP. The An2 is worth installing just for the sound - what a glorious clatter B-) Cockpits need clickable switches etc., but they fly nicely and make an interesting change. This sort of sim community input is great to see.

Marty, I think it is only available on request. Rob sent me his AFS2 Coromandel to try, because I was working on the Chathams. I will get back to that soon, because there is a new version of SceneryProc coming soon. Timmo has changed his VLC licencing, so I might be able to convert his Chathams scenery. We shall see.
Been out of AFS2 since early January, because the new machine decided it was not going to show anything on the screen, even when to all appearances it had booted up normally. Very frustrating time. It is behaving itself now, although I still don't know what caused the problem. Probly Win10 response to an incorrect shutdown. I thought I was a stubborn cuss, but Win10 leaves me for dead.

Marty, I did think I'd sent you the link, let me know if you can't find it.
However looking at these screenshots reminded me that I need to fix the cultivation -- unless you start at Whitianga, you don't see the trees and buildings. Apparently AFS2 requires individual cultivation files covering much small areas, whereas mine is just one big file. This should be easily fixed, but I'm completely dedicated to finishing NZCH at the moment, so don't distract me:)

Rob, I started at NZAA. From what I have read in the IPACS forum, cultivation is tied to, or centred on, a particular airport. That allows quicker loading. Imagine cultivation for the whole of Oz being tied to Alice Springs - it would take a week to load if you wanted to start a flight there. Cultivation tied to Bris-bunn might also take a while to load, because there would be a lot of it, but once you got beyond the BNE sphere of influence you would get the Toowoomba stuff, and so on.
I think that is how it works, but I could well be wrong.
Mike

The planes can be downloaded from here:

The listing changes frequently. The planes are all beta WIP at various stages of completion.

You will have to ask Rob for his AFS2 Coromandel scenery. That too is beta WIP, not on general release.
