In case anyone's been wondering what I've been up to (!)

No ... I haven't gone away ... I've been X-Planing :ph43r:

Nice as P3D still is, I can't help but feel it's stagnating now - under a mass of ancient code that LM don't seem to be too interested in re-writing, other than little tweaks around the edges.

X-Plane really has come a long way since I last saw it a year or two ago - and I feel that it's "going somewhere". Feature-for-feature I don't think there's *that* much in it, but the lighting (especially on the aircraft ) is stunning.

I tweaked FSX and P3D like mad (PTA, Tomatoshade etc.) so it's no surprise that I've been throwing myself into xVision (PTA clone). Here are some of the results:

I started with a Spitfire, so I have to end with one!

My XP tweaks/presets are here.

Like you I have added X Plane 11 to my flight sim repertoire.Still have FSX and a number of the aircraft are also available in X Plane.Check out Lyndiman's NZ scenery for X Plane on U tube.260gb,so took a few days to download.Very impressed with X Plane thus far.

Good for you explaining your X-Planing :)
I'm still in P3D
I like the Red Arrows Hawk most, though both the Spit and the Vulcan are beautiful aircraft.

The Hawk is Justflight. Amazingly, the Spitfire, Hurricane and Vulcan are freeware. Inevitably, there isn't so much freeware available for XP11 as compared to P3D, but there's more appearing week by week.

I'm still keeping a bit of an eye on the VR scene as well. Hoping the local hire guy will get the new HP Reverb headset in a couple of months and I'll have another week of play and see if the increased resolution is now where I'd like it to be (to be able to read GA a/c gauges at-a-glance)
