More pics to come, but here are a couple of Doug Brooker's Spitfire at this Sunday's D-Day commemorative display:

Some day, I'll work out how I can use a slower shutter speed (to get a blurred prop) yet still have the image in focus. These days, it's quite an achievement if I can get the aircraft in the frame at all!

... plus one from XP11:

In-sim or in RL, the Spitfire is breathtakingly beautiful. Of course, in RL you get that unforgettable *sound* as well!

Lovely in sim and out. Which XP model is that?

It's the FlyingIron one. A bit of a resource hog - and I think they overdid the rivets bump mapping, but it's pretty good otherwise! The free one out there is good also (externally) but the VC is much more basic.

Yeah thought it was. I was looking at it but I had read elsewhere that it wasn't very FPS friendly

Glad you did - was that 1/2000th exposure? :o
The sims are looking pretty good, must say.

I kept fiddling about, switching from "Auto" to "Programmed" or "Manual" to try to control the shutter speed but - yes - 1/2000 would be about right!

The problem is that with all the new safety regulations, all the flying takes place a mile high and 5 miles away (yawn) ... so you end up using your [cheap] telephoto fully zoomed out all the time - and camera shake is a real problem (even at that speed, I think). Well ... that's my excuse! Give me a static line-up any day!!!

The last one is XP11. Amazingly, it's default scenery. It's not really that accurate (buildings-wise) but at that height, it looks pretty convincing!

I've tried all sorts of LUA scripts for XP, but have settled for the FlyAGI one. Clouds are by ActiveSky XP (still beta I think, but looking good)!

I'll post some more - real and in-sim :)

Here are some more pics from the display:

The amazing Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2:

Bristol Scout:

The elegant little L-39 with a magnificent backdrop:

As usual - loads of Harvards!

... this remains my favourite livery:

Difficult shots to take at Ardmore, as the sun is always into the camera and the aircraft are often silhouetted:

Thankfully, the day remained clear and blue!

A freeware Hrvard: no VC but the external model looks good!
