Looking at what some bright chaps have put together for a corner of Norway, it seems feasible the AFS2 community can Do Stuff as and when required. Great news.

It's a pretty beefy download, but I had all three parts installed and flying by 1030 Oz time, after starting just before 0900.
There's a good readme file supplied.
There is already an update in production, with even more famous buildings by the same crew.

I am watching the Lofoten project. There is a lot of good work being done, much of it freeware.
There is now another mesh for Norway/Sweden/Finland. IZ0JUB has nearly covered the place with photo and cultivation. FlightXtreme has done almost all of Czechoslovakia with mesh, photo and cultivation.
There are meshes for Italy, Spain and Portugal and more and more cultivation, but as yet not much photo. Same for Ireland and Scotland. Lots of cultivation and scenery models for la belle France, by Gasy24.

Marty - if you used Steam, they have a File Verification thing which will check your installation and repair it. If you have third party addons, best to move that folder to a safe place, because I think Steam only recognises official stuff. But once they have fixed your standard install, you can move the custom stuff back in, ideally one by one, in case some of that caused the propblem.

"Official" stuff lives in C:\Program Files\Aerofly FS2 Flight Simulator\ ...

Official Addons, like the ORBX airfields, live in
C:\Program Files\Aerofly FS2 Flight Simulator\ AddOns\...

Other stuff is in \user\Documents\AFS2\ etc etc

Yes, Charl, lately there has been some discussion about file structures. I have found quite a few that work, but I personally have standardised on one. I am a DVD person, I don't use Steam, so I don't know what Steam sees as a legitimate FS2 install
