Short final for this Ventura at RAF Benbecula, Scotland - point of departure was Reykjavik, Iceland. The Ventura (Lodestar) was the larger cousin of the 'Hudson' bomber, both used by the RAF. In '43, 487 Squadron of the RNZAF lost all eleven aircraft in an attack on Amsterdam.
