I think Lukla has been released in other sims, this is more from AFS2.

The provided kmz file for Google Earth goes a long way to familiarising yourself with the exotic places included in the scenery.
Flightsimming around the place, for the first time I have a sense of where Everest fits in the scheme of things.

Sascha has produced a bunch of detailed airports in the region.

Each shows great care in the crafting, with some whimsical special objects.

In the sim, you get that moment of vertigo as you cross the runway threshold on takeoff.
Courcheval and the other altiports do this too.

Superb post Charl.
I hope those stone steps aren't the only access to the terminal at Phaplu ...gord , would be end of me at that altitude. ...I'll wait here ...send a Yak <_<

Yep, everything's a little extreme around here all right!
A Yak? No problem:

There will be more, I am enjoying the micro environment that Sascha built.

Couldn't find Charl's Yak, so I brought a couple of Kristoff's. Puts the fun back in simming

Charl, I'm tempted to point out that one can't have a yack in AFS2 because there is no multiplayer yet, but I shall refrain

These two are by Krzysztof Kaniewski (krzysk1). His external models look good. They are best flown from outside the cockpit using basic principles, as they are somewhat minimalist and have their idiosyncrasies - for instance, to shut the doors on the T-18, you open the throttle. His An2 has a brilliant sound set. You can download them here:

My goodness you are a veritable AFS2 Ambassador.

for instance, to shut the doors on the T-18, you open the throttle.

Better than having to do that to open the door! :o
