Gloster Gladiator... the last biplane fighter in the Royal Air Force and as Sea Gladiator of the Royal Navy.
It is already a strange feeling that these machines were in full use over North Africa in 1941 and the Gloster Meteor Mk. III was put into service in 1944. It was a huge leap. Fighting in a fighter double-decker against other double-deckers is a fighting style that in 1940/41 had actually "already gone out of fashion" but showed itself for the last time in North Africa. It was about who could fly the tightest circle to come slowly and relentlessly against opponents and shoot him. This was also tried in one-decker, but this proved to be witless in the fight between biplane and monoplane.
