The new DC Designs F-14 Tomcat is a joy to fly!

Bit of history about this Aircraft and its pilot

Image

Larry “Music” Muczynski served from 1972 to 1996 and was a member of the Black Aces, and he also fought in the Gulf of Sidra in 1981. As someone who never flew an airplane until he entered the Navy, Muczynski recalled that he was under even more pressure due to the kind of plane he was flying. As the Navy was transitioning out of F-4 Phantoms, “it was a big deal to get the Tomcat.”

His experience with the Tomcat is intertwined with his first time living on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the USS Nimitz. He recounted the pros and cons of living on this massive city at sea. “The thing about nuclear-powered aircraft carriers is that you have a great big flight deck and the air conditioning works all the time; and, it can carry 3.5 million gallons of jet fuel, so you can fly a lot.” The most notable negative aspect? “The food!”

DashCap great post ....but, you are the last person here I would expect to post an F-14, no disrespect, but I thought your feet were firmly in a much slower side-by-side cockpit...I'm glad I was wrong.
Keep them coming

Haha yeah me too Marty, I'm actually a big fan of this type of aviation, I've just never flown it for real and I tend to recreate real life flights in the sim normally!

But got to have a bit of fun now and them plus the sim is pretty real these days so the experience is a lot closer to real life as it used to be...

The irony is that the aces of the aces on the F-14 were all Iranians in the war that Saddam Hussein imposed on Iran on behalf of the US, hardly that their martionette the Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was replaced by the rebels of the Islamic Revolution under Ayatollah Khomeini. 1980-1988, one million dead...

The most successful pilot of the F-14 died together with his wife in a mysterious traffic accident...

The hatred of Iran to this day is so great that Aerosoft was only willing to include an Iranian F-14 in its package for the FSX and P3D after being asked by FS Magazine. For me, this is proof that the sentence allegedly from Voltair: "History is the lie on which one has agreed" is quite correct. Also omitting history is a lie.
Here we have the same thing again.

(Note. I doubt that Voltaire really said or shouted this in 1744. As a philosopher who corresponded with both Frederick II of Prussia and Tzarina Catherine the Great of Russia, he also had to think about his wallet...)
