P-38J-15-LO 43-28345(?) #49 "Mon Amy", as flown by 2nd Lt. herbert 'Stub' Hatch of the 71st FS/ 1st FG, the only 'ace in a day' among P-38 pilots in the MTO. He shot down five Romanian IAR-81C fighters on the 10th of June 1944, during a mission to Ploesti, his 27th. He was also the only pilot of his squadron to return to base that day, the others all having been shot down of diverted to other airfields.

Love the angles, beautiful shots. Numbers 2 and 3 stand out for me.
