Looked a bit like a MiG-31 to me...
But I'll go with Aharon on the sub, what an arresting shot.
And that evocative Deepfreeze C130, so captures the spirit, beautifully framed.

Thanks for looking chaps. Some of those go back away.
Charl, I get confused with the 25 and the 31 .... 25 Foxbat, 31 Foxhound as they look similar, and I will have to trust Dani as I cant remember.
The names, Foxbat, Foxhound are of course NATO inventions.... if they considered (or consider) an aircraft to be a fighter, it will be given a "name" starting with F, for example ...Fishbed, Forger, Farmer, and so on....as I'm sure you are aware.

Not so in Russia, at least not for international audiences, the Aircraft follow model numbers as in the west..... Boeing is a good example....with its numbering system.
And to close...if I may, some Russian aviation trivia regarding MIG's ......Artem Mikoyan (M) and Mikhail Gurevich (G). (The i in MiG is the Russian word meaning “and.”) ...Mikoyan and Gurevich = MiG.

Ok ...dismissed, stand down :P

There were two different two seat Lightning versions, the T4 and T5. Most squadrons had at least one on charge for training. Early Lightning pilots only had the simulator to prepare for the real thing but once the T4 came along, they were able to do dual training. The T birds were fully equipped in both radar and weapon systems and were Mach two capable. The easiest way to tell the two apart is the T5 has the squared off tail as seen on the F3 onwards.

Some stories never die.
Military aircraft from the "other field post number" will always accompany our generation.

Splitpin, they're all great. but...for me the two F-4s and the KC-130H are the standouts.
Just showing my bias for my two favorite types. :D
