More old stuff

Postby Splitpin » Sat Jun 04, 2022 3:24 pm

I'm pretty sure most of these are FSX shots ...I had that platform going so well, but that was then... a bit sad really. Was a time when Rob (Top Rob) would deliver his latest work(pre FSX) to my mailbox, and hanging out for Phil Perrot's latest addon(Alphasim) ...and I have them all. And HJG, and all their wonderful stuff. Adamski, Dave Garwood, Adrian Braush(spelling may not be correct) and his flood of repaints, and of course our own Doug, I still have a CD he sent me with all the Andover and Argosy repaints he and Ian Warren had done....
I've been in flight sim since clouds were square...and they looked good, happy to look at an airspeed indicator made of (now I know) 10 or 12 pixels

I seem to have become a victim of time ...and its relentless advance. Software outpacing hardware, and prices nearing mortgage levels. So, my friends for now at least, enjoy these.

PinPics 2011 aye?
An eyeblink, the decade.
I found some work stuff the other day, that I did in 1995, seems not so long ago.
And I can say without vanity, that I admire the younger man's energy!

The Lightning of course.
But I do love the Hustler shot, what a beast and what an angle...

Thanks for looking Charl , I should also mention Deane B and his amazing Ag series, my first banner was a shot of one of his creations.

Thanks Marty. I am hoping to get those old gals into MSFS one day. I will need to have the Fletcher to supplement my real Fletcher cockpit !!

Wo what a flashback, those clouds are still looking good :)

Deane: would be awesome to see the Fletchers MSFS-ified, guess you already have a feel for how much effort it would take but more strength to ya  would it be a ground up recreation or would you be able to use parts of the old models?

I have to totally recreate in one of the newer tools. I have started using Blender. I can bring the old model in parts as references. The modelling is relatively easy, but I am yet to figure out everything required to export, how to animate and how the texture formats work. It is way more complicated than previous.

I have the cockpit of ZK-CKA. I am restoring it as well as maintaining it as a flight simulator. It was this one https://crescoproject.wordpress.com/
