Even if the F-16 is showing its age, it remains a classic. When I was a young lad and the GDR still existed, we had respect for this type of aircraft. It was undoubtedly superior to our MiG 21bis/SAU, the MiG 23 and 27 were too cumbersome and you could only wipe them away from a great distance, but the MiG 23's radar wasn't enough for that and only with the MiG 29A was an airplane with a fair one chance available. But until the turnaround and the fall of the Wall, only 23 copies arrived at the NVA. Thanks for that reminder, Bugdani. I'm in the process of writing down my memories, not to publish them, because nobody in Germany is interested in our stories in the GDR anymore, but rather for me before they disappear from memory.
