The Raglan Holiday Park

I'm a big fan of the MSFS Marketplace because I am intrinsically lazy, and they take your money so painlessly.
SO for 10 bucks how can you pass up an opportunity to go where no-one except keen surfers and lovers of Bohemian art have gone before? :D

Image

Initially you would be excused for wondering what this is doing in a flightsim library... a random AI P-40 parked next to the road??
But after wandering along past the really nicely made holiday park, you come across a mowed paddock, with a few aircraft in the corner.
The arrivals hall is fitted with a couple of picnic tables too.

Image
I brought the Blackwing here, and noticed how tiny it really is - a genuine 2-seater, no more.
The wingspan for comparison, is 2/3 that of a C172.
I spent the time doing TnG's without too much worry about being within a country mile of the threshold touchdown.

Image

I also marvelled at how aircraft have finally made it into the 21st century.
Just a proper UI and enough under the hood to take you where you want to go.

Image

I didn't think this little thing would become my go-to plane, but it is very good at what it does.
It can go 340km/h but has a stall speed of 65.
Plus it's virtually aerobatic: +4g and -2g
A clever little Swede, at Raglan. NZ

Thank you chaps...."Local Beach", eh?
I'm hoping you can confirm the paddock is mowed a little better than the sim.
I keep selling the BW I know, but it did have a bit of a job, bouncing and blowing up a dust storm over all those tussocks!

Hah nope, I can confirm it's usually pretty wooly.

Haha.. true!
We were on a road trip and stopped off. Why?
Well because I'd been there in the sim, how could you not stop for the Real vs Sim pic :D
Pity the huge wind farm turbines up the road aren't modelled, I'm sure if one looks hard enough they will be somewhere to be had.

Bit lazy not to match the met conditions but time etc

I just revisited this post and found that apart from the earlier Sim V Real image, all Charl's image links are throwing me to a Flickr sign-up page. :o

Not sure what I did, if I did, but should be back presumably as it was!

Thankyou, Charl - looks fine now. I suspect something at the Flickr end, given that the only image I could see was from PostImage. I tried the "Reply with Quote" trick which showed the other links were all Flickr.
