Thanks for looking, I didn't know we had so many airframes tied up in that deal...serial numbers were allocated as well.
The 2 seaters would have been a great sight...oh well.

I'm tempted to ask a serious (if unpopular) question:
What is it we were going to do with

a decent Air Combat Wing.

I submit that Poseidons just make so much more sense.

I submit that the Poseidon first flew almost 10 years after the F-16 deal was struck. So never an option. Also the P-8 is not a strike aircraft.

...or a bunch of C130J's while we waited, and even a Boeing that gets the politicians there and home.

I guess to provide a reserve/supply of trained F16 pilots for deployment to our ANZUS partners as part of our contribution.
And of course, to shoot up errant fishing boats and display at airshows!
