Screencomp resurrection for new banners
Over the last few months we've had some excellent pics to use for banners from Mark Cranston (many thanks!).
However - I'd love to see pics from actual *sims* appearing in that banner slot again ... so ... I was wondering about reviving the old screencomp to get new banners in the future.
Here's the idea: not a competition as such - more a means to get some submissions for use as monthly banners - so no voting required.
Instead, the best image would be selected by a panel - comprising (initially) of just Splitpin and myself. However:
1) If either myself or Splitpin enters, then the other chooses.
2) If both of us enter, then we ask Doug (!).
3) If all three of us enter then we all make a choice - but not our own entries.
Entries that don't get selected for a particular month go into storage for possible use later.
If the response is lukewarm at best, then we may have to trawl through some of our pre-2018 entries for possible pics - but it'd be great to have some new ones, as most sims have improved substantially over the last 5 years or so.
The guidelines for entries are similar to what we used in the past:
ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to all registered NZFF members.
THE SCREENSHOT
1) The screenshot image must consist of a screen captured from any flight sim.
2) *If possible*, the image should be captured somewhere over New Zealand (this is NZFF, after all) or have some sort of a connection to NZ.
3) Editing is OK: additional images can be added (either real or other screenshots), but the main component of the image should always be from a flight sim.
IMAGE FORMAT
4) The images must be jpg and must be at least 1024px wide. Bear in mind that the final banner crops to around 1200px * 380px, which is quite a narrow letter-box shape - so try to compose your shot so as not to lose areas of high interest. Don't worry too much about cropping - the final crop will be made when creating the banner.
5) No frames or text on the image.
6) Keep the original uncompressed/high resolution version (BMP or TIFF) saved on your PC - we may request it to get better definition for the banner!
7) If possible, please add details of the aircraft depicted and general scenery/location information when you post the pic.
We may just have enough time to have enough entries in for August, so please post your pics here in this topic!
Adam.

So I carefully selected a dozen pics, and uploaded them as bmps, only to find that PostImage had changed them to pngs
