Jankees,

Great desert textures!!! I always want real desert textures for my native country Israel in FSX!!

Where is it in third and last screenshots please??

Happy New Year to you

Regards,

Aharon

P.S. TO OWNERS OR MODERATORS of NZFF forums, when I press reply to a new screenshot post, it opens new window to Steam website. It happened three times to me. I think Steam website is secretly linking itself to your forums.

Well done Jan Kees, I see you have travelled far and wide to find backdrops for all your many repaints, from Messerschmitt to Grumman!
That would be the Guelb er Richât, an eroded rock dome in North Africa.

Amazing as usual JK.
I've been adding a few Ferris paints to some of my War Thunder F-16s.

Keith Ferris designed schemes to try and mask the orientation of the aircraft in combat, but the results were mixed, I think the idea was abandoned in the end ...but they look good.

I think,if memory serves, the Ferris scheme was only used on the F-14 and F-4. Not sure about the F-14, but the F-4 also had a false canopy painted on the undersideof the fuselage.
It also looks similar, in some respects to the WW2 Luftwaffe splinter scheme.
I will say though, the Alaskan based F-16 Aggressor units wear a very similar scheme.

It is indeed the Richat dome, located in Mauretania

The Ferris schema was also applied to the F-15, and even the A-10 I believe.

Here's the final version, now available for download on fs.2:
